The Desktop Engineer is responsible for being a tier II support contact for escalated support requests, and daily systems administration and security duties. This position is a hybrid advanced Desktop Support and Cyber Security position. Enumerated below are details of what the position entails.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide 1st and 2nd Tier II support requests from helpdesk I technicians and customers
- Analyze, configure, maintain and troubleshoot end user computing devices (MAC and Windows)
- Monitor and manage patching cycle for MSP clients
- Monitor and update service request and incidents within the IT Service Management (ITSM) tool
- Vulnerability management of legacy software and configuration
- Management of user accounts, security and distribution groups as needed
- Participate in the 24×7 on-call rotation
- Other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent education/experience to provide necessary skills to perform primary responsibilities
- A + , Network +, Security +, Microsoft Certification preferred
- 3 Years experience as a desktop engineer or related technical equivalent
- Advanced ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in English
- Advanced on Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2008-2019)
- Advanced on Microsoft Workstation Operating Systems (XP to Windows 11)
- Advanced on Microsoft Azure, Office 365, & Intune
- Advanced support experience for Mac iOS, OS platforms and applications
- Proficient with Powershell Scripting
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised daily
- Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
- Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills with attention to detail
